We know that our staff are our best assets, and as an employer, we do all we can to support our team to have a healthy work-life balance – with flexible working options, healthcare and financial benefits. Haka Tourism Group also actively encourages our staff to enjoy Aotearoa New Zealand and give back to the community.
As part of our commitment to honouring our core value, “Aotearoa Proud”, we have a paid training policy where staff are paid to learn Te Reo through an agreed course provider.
We know that physical and mental wellbeing is vital, which is why we provide access to free, confidential Employee Assistance Programme counselling and independent guidance to help with personal and work related issues, and our sick leave covers one mental health day annually. We have also arranged discounts on health insurance and vision health.
On top of an employee’s pay, we add in 3% to Kiwisaver for those who opt into this scheme. Other businesses can deduct this employer component from the salary, where as we add this to the overall pay meaning employees are paid 3% more. We’ve arranged preferred rates and discounts with our bank of choice as well as a free financial health check
Haka Tourism Group promotes a culture of giving back to our local community and therefore we actively encourage one full day of paid work to volunteer with the local Iwi, Marae, Eat My Lunch or DOC.
Haka Tourism Group are proud to operate a flexible hours policy at head office which allows our whanau to start each day at a time which suits their personal circumstances. We also have the option to work from home for office-based staff (after 6 months at HTG).
